1.1 The Chairman’s Working Party Sub-Committee meets as and when deemed appropriate by the Chairman. The purpose of the group is to enable senior Members of the Committee to discuss matters of importance to the Joint Committee.

1.2 The Chairman’s Working Party is also the Personnel Sub-Committee and interview panel. Meetings of the Personnel Sub-Committee are subject to Standing Orders of the Joint Committee.

1.3 From Standing Orders 33(d) the terms of reference are:

"The Chairman’s Working Party Sub-Committee shall have 5 Members made up of the Chairman and 2 Vice-Chairs of the Joint Committee plus the Chairmen of the Finance and General Purposes and Scientific and Byelaws Sub-Committees, and shall consider all personnel matters and other urgent matters relating to the well-being of the Joint Committee. The Chairman shall have the power to appoint additional Members if necessary.

This Sub-Committee shall be given plenary powers to act in an emergency."
