CONWY MUSSEL FISHERY ORDER LICENCE SUB-COMMITTEE
Report by the Chief Executive
Purpose of Report
To advise Members of the terms of reference of this Standing Sub-Committee and to provide details of membership for the year 2005/2006.
Recommendation
That the Committee agrees the appointment of Members to the Conwy Mussel Fishery Order Licence Sub-Committee for the year 2006/2007.
1. Background
1.1 The terms of reference for this Standing Sub-Committee are:-
a) To consider every application for a mussel licence under the terms of the Conwy Mussel Fishery Order 1948
b) To arrange meetings at suitable times to deal with applications.
c) To decide on who shall be issued with licences and in the case of any appeal against the decision to deal with the appeal.
d) To report to the Joint Committee at the earliest opportunity after any meetings.
1.2 During the past year membership of this Sub-Committee has been Mr. O. J. Roberts and Councillor E. D. Tew, together with the Chairman of the Conwy Mussel Company.
1.3 The Chairman and Vice-Chairs of the Joint Committee are ex-officio members.
1.4 It has also been agreed that the Conwy Harbourmaster be invited to meetings of this Sub-Committee as required.
1.5 The Standing Orders of the Joint Committee apply to the meetings of this Sub-Committee.
1.6 Where possible, licensing for previous licence-holders is agreed without the need for a meeting.
