To receive the Committee’s instructions with respect to the membership of this Standing Sub-Committee.

1.1 The Chairman’s Working Party Sub-Committee meets as and when deemed appropriate by the Chairman. The purpose of the group is to enable senior Members of the Committee to discuss matters of importance to the Joint Committee.

1.2 The Chairman’s Working Party is also the Personnel Sub-Committee and interview panel. Meetings of the Personnel Sub-Committee are subject to Standing Orders of the Joint Committee.

1.3 The Chairman’s Working Party/Personnel Sub-Committee is authorised to consider all personnel matters and other urgent matters relating to the well-being of the Joint Committee. The Chairman is authorised to appoint additional members with special expertise if necessary.

1.4 The Chairman’s Working Party for 2008/09 should comprise the Chairman and 2 Vice-Chairs of the Joint Committee. The Chief Executive should attend as adviser.

1.5 This Sub-Committee shall be given plenary powers to act in an emergency.

1.6 Members are invited to approve these arrangements for the forthcoming year.
