Restriction of fishing for escallop in Cardigan Bay
In that part of the District lying within three nautical miles of the baselines (as they existed at 25th January 1983 in accordance with the Territorial Waters Order in Council 1964 (c), as amended by the Territorial Waters (Amendment) Order in Council 1979 (d)) between the Southern boundary at Cemaes Head (latitude 520 07.032’ North longitude 040 43.853’West) and a line drawn due West true from Braich y Pwyll (latitude 520 47.776’ North longitude 040 46.072’ West)
(a) no person shall fish for or take escallop (Pecten maximus) between the 1st June and the 31st December in any year.
(b) All positions are derived from the WGS 84 datum.
Explanatory Note not forming part of the Byelaw: Fishing for king scallops is prohibited within the 3 mile fishery limit in that part of the District which lies to the west and south of Braich y Pwyll on the Llyn Peninsula. The prohibition covers the period 1st June to 31st December.
