BYELAW 20 – RESTRICTION OF FISHING FOR ESCALLOP IN CARDIGAN BAY

The Joint Committee has simultaneously revoked and re-made Byelaw 20 (Restriction of Fishing for Escallop in Cardigan Bay) which seeks to harmonise the byelaw with the Scallop Fishing (Wales) Order 2005 whilst retaining, unchanged, the current fishing restriction.

BYELAW 21 – PROHIBITION OF BOTTOM TOWED FISHING GEAR

The Joint Committee has made a new Byelaw 21 (Prohibition of Bottom Towed Fishing Gear) which seeks to give a higher level of protection to highly sensitive reef structures and horse mussels on an area of seabed off the North Llyn coast.

Any person who wishes to object to the confirmation of the above byelaws must send a statement of their objection in writing to the Minister for Environment, Planning and Countryside, National Assembly for Wales, Agriculture Department, Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NQ within 28 days of the publication of this notice and must send a copy of the statement of objection to the Chief Executive of the North Western and North Wales Sea Fisheries Committee.
