PERMITS

To obtain your permit or authorisation application form, click on the permit/authorisation you require.

 

Byelaw 5

Notes on Applications for Cockle and Mussel Permits for the period 1st September 2009 to 31st August 2010.

Permits issued during 2008 expired on 31st August 2009.

I. If you hold a valid 2008/09 permit and wish to renew this for 2009/10;

1) you should fill out the permit application form. You do not need to send in any photographs or proof of identity.

2) If your Foreshore Gatherers' Training Course Certificate expires before 31st August 2010 you will need to take a refresher course. A copy of your new certificate should be sent with your application.

3) Your Safety Certificate will need to be valid for the whole of the period 1st September 2009 to 31st August 2010. Your new permit will not be issued until we have proof that you hold a valid Safety Certificate.

 

II. If you held a permit previous to 2008/09 or did not renew your permit during the last year;

1) you should fill out application form A and return it to the Carnforth office with a photocopy of your Foreshore Gatherers Safety Training Course Certificate (if applicable). You do not need to send in any photographs or proof of identity. Please note that you will not get an automatic renewal of your permit but will be placed on a waiting list. The waiting list for 2009/10 is full and your application will therefore be placed on the waiting list for a limited number of new permits for 2010/11.

2) If your Foreshore Gatherers' Training Course Certificate expires before 31st August 2010 you will need to take a refresher course. A copy of your new certificate should be sent with your application.

3) Your Safety Certificate will need to be valid for the whole of the period 1st September 2009 to 31st August 2010.

 

III. If you have not previously held a Byelaw 5 permit;

1) you should fill out application form B and return it to the Carnforth office. You will need to enclose proofs of identity, recent passport photographs and a photocopy of your Foreshore Gatherers Safety Training Course Certificate. Please note: The waiting list for new permits for 2009 is full. Your application will be placed on the waiting list for a limited number of new permits for 2010/11.
